About us.

This one-of-a-kind event is located in the historic Halyard Park Neighborhood – one of the most long-standing, middle-class, African American neighborhoods in the City of Milwaukee. Named after Ardie Clark-Halyard and her husband, Wilbur, this neighborhood has a rich history. As a civil rights activist, Ardie promoted peace, unity, education, and economic development. One of the couple’s greatest achievements was opening the first black-owned savings and loans company, Columbia Savings and Loan. For this, we want to retain and honor the integrity of Halyard Park by promoting peace, unity, education and economic development in honor of the Halyards, just as Ardie did, through a diverse selection of vendors, food, and music.
